Can Am Athletic Scholarship Inc. is a family run business. TJ Atley grew up in Vancouver with a family of recreational golfers. As a multi-sport athlete, she played at the Provincial, National and International Levels. A few highlights include playing on 4 BC Teams, placing 3rd at the Inaugural America’s Cup (1978) and a 6th place finish in the World Team Championship with playing partner Dawn Coe-Jones (1983).
TJ attended University of Washington, a Division 1 University in the NCAA on a full scholarship and graduated in 1984 with a BA in Public Speaking. Her two daughters attended NAIA schools on scholarships. Kasandra played golf at Northwood University (FL) and Celene played soccer and softball at Jamestown College in North Dakota. Both daughters grew up at public school in Ladner, BC and attended private Universities.
TJ’s experience was vastly different than that of her daughters: size of the campus, a city versus rural setting; and even different climate; however, all had a wonderful time and made great friendships. Because of these varied experiences, the Can Am Athletic Scholarships team helps the student athlete and family navigate the complex USA school system every step of the way.
